  An official state program of the Miss America Organization, the Miss Montana Scholarship Program exists to
 provide personal and professional opportunities to young women to promote their voices in culture, politics, and

 Become Miss Montana 2010


 Step 1 – Submit an application.  The first step to becoming Miss Montana – and Miss America – is to

 complete the 2010 Miss Montana Scholarship Program application.  A $100 refundable performance fee is

 required and will be returned upon successful completion of the Miss Montana competition.  

 
Step 2 – Attend the State Finalist Forum.  State Finalists and guests are encouraged to attend the

 State Finalist Forum, which will be held in Billings late March 2010.  Life skills training and materials for

 the 2010 competition will be distributed.


 Step 3 – Participate in the 2010 State Finals.  The 2010 Miss Montana Scholarship Program State

 Finals will take place the week of June 13 in Glendive.  During the week, contestants will be the guests at a variety of special events, in addition to competing for the position of Miss Montana! 

Miss Montana Scholarship Opportunities

Just by competing at the state level, each participant is awarded at mimimum a $800 cash scholarship...Miss Montana receives a $5,000 cash scholarship!  In 2009, over $250,000 in scholarships were awarded, including several applied scholarships are offered.  In 2009, these included...

Phases of Competition


  • Interview.  Each contestant has a private-ten minute interview with the panel of judges.  This phase of competition allows the contestant to articulate her views and discuss her ambitions. 
  • Talent.  Designed to showcase the contestant’s artistic abilities, the talent competition is unique to the Miss America system.  Each contestant is granted a maximum of 90 seconds to perform her talent selection.
  • Lifestyle and Fitness in Swimsuit.  The swimsuit competition showcases the contestant’s commitment to leading a healthy, balanced lifestyle.  Contestants may wear either a one-piece or two-piece swimsuit in good taste.
  • Evening Wear.  The most elegant phase of competition, the this phase displays the contestant’s poise and grace. 
  • On-Stage Question.   This phase allows the contestant to articulate her views and share her interests in a large-group setting. 

Children's Miracle Network

After 18 years of partnering together, the Miss America Organization and Children's Miracle Network created a national platform for its representatives. The Miss America Organization and Children's Miracle Network share in a commitment to raise awareness and funds for Children's Miracle Network hospitals  throughout the country as well as the Miss America Scholarship Program.

 
Each young woman who participates at the state level will be asked to raise $250 for CMN, of  which a percentage of the funds raised will benefit Montana’s children’s hospital, Shodair Hospital in Helena. 

 

Throughout her year of servant leadership, Miss Montana partners with Shodair Hospital to raise awareness and funds through participation in a variety of events, including the DQ Miracle Treat Day, IHOP’s National Pancake Day, CMN Telethon, and CMN Champions Across America.
